On February 16, 2018, Senate District 38 Health Task Force member Dr. Ekaete Roberts, introduced Jennifer Leslie and Senate Health Advisor Dr. Katherine Ntekim, to a national audience at the 2018 Florida Health Care Summit. Both healthcare leaders vow to pave the way to ensure that healthcare is seen as a human right. Jennifer Leslie spoke about the proposed 2018 Family Caregiver Tax Credit bill SB 1786. Dr. Katherine Ntekim spoke about proposed 2018 Human Trafficking bill SB 1784 and the right of young girls to be properly screened in the emergency room for signs of human trafficking. Former US Senator Nina Turner was one of the main speakers at the Florida Health Care Summit.
