Speaking in public was not one of them. Working in the role of Florida Senate District 38 Health Task Force Chair, did not prepare me to be an Emcee, a role that never in my life was I ever brave enough to take on. Yet, on the night of May 25th, 2017, I had no choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the years I have &#8216;learnt&#8217; that &#8211; one of the key skills to overcoming adversities is to adapt to given situations and move forward. That, is why I have now made history &#8211; being the first Jamaican\/American woman to Chair the Health Task Force within the two Florida legislative chambers for North Miami\/South Florida: Both Florida House of Representatives (District 108) AND The Florida Senate (District 38).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On May 25th, it became apparent that &#8220;through God I can do all things.&#8221; Thank God for my intuition that directed me to nervously stay calm, and just do it!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo
